So even when your black man wants to change…he can’t,
If your argument is more whites are killed by police than blacks, I advise the white community to bring these situations to the light. To me that number means nothing, as humans we tend to know what we see and what we experience. You want us to believe you face the same issues we do? Show us and we’ll gladly fight for justice with you. White & Black hand in hand fighting for our rights. See when a black man is murdered by police we don’t see much frustration from the white community. We don’t see a white community that’s tired of the same issue. We see (not all) but plenty of the white community stand behind the police. When your emotions match the numbers maybe then that statistic may mean something … Until then #blacklivesmatter.
Something I could never be,
Born to leave a legacy,
Though I’m born into hell it seem,
This little light of mine I let it beam,
Refuse to be another nigga the world already seen,
Don’t need a screen to change the scene,
Change your path alter expectations,
Snakes hidden in the grasses waiting,
See you fail they congratulating, Continue reading “Just Another Nigga.”
“You’re never as low as you think”-Bas
You call this the promise land, well then tell me man, why are people dying, why are bullets flying, why are the women crying, why are the babies dying, the truth in your face but you continue lying, why do our people quit before trying, why do we base, each other on race, instead of the person you are, fighting, instead of uniting as one, look at the world it’s almost done, and you don’t see that, thanks to Barack sky is the limit if you black, get off your ass and work excuses are wack, God gave us freewill, a heart to love, a spirit to heal, a mind to think, and the devil is around every time you blink, everything is messed up, the school systems, jobs, police, and the list goes on, our closest friends die and they tell us life goes on, no time to mourn, some people have nothing, Continue reading “The War (2010)”
I wish I could be more open,
I wish my pride wasn’t so strong,
I’d rather right my wrongs,
Instead of waiting for help to come along,
I like my problems to be my problems,
Even with the weight of other people issues,
I still carry mine also,
Sometimes I carry more than I can handle,
Even with everything falling down on me,
I never let it show,
To the point it gives an image that I don’t need help,
I can’t blame anyone for that,
As selfish and full of myself as it sounds, Continue reading “Just A Little Bit. . .”
Black man get tired,
He been running around all day,
Maybe about 300 plus years ,
Black man get tired,
Carrying his race, his case, and the kids,
Black man get tired,
Watching brothers & sisters sleep,
Refusing to wake up,
Black man get tired,
Everyday playing lottery trying to wish himself out of poverty,
Black man get tired,
He work everyday can he get a break?
He work everyday can he get a raise? Continue reading “Black Man Get Tired.”
I thought black lives matter ?
I thought black lives matter?…then I,
Heard nothing but silence,
When police sirens,
Ambulances,
Another a nigga killed my nigga,
And you still my nigga,
But lets be real my nigga,
My brothers you killed my nigga,
Was suppose to be your brothers too my nigga,
Blacks guns to aim at black sons,
Killing those who look like you my nigga,
When a cop pull a trigger look at how we come to march,
When the cameras go away look at how we fall apart, Continue reading “Black Lives Matter ?”
Maybe it’s age,
Maybe it’s awareness,
No matter what it may be,
You reach a point in life when really start to cherish it,
You try to focus in on your present,
Too often we try to forget the past by being forward thinking,
Sometimes the present fails to receive proper attention,
While running from your past to run into your future,
We run past the bicycle on the side of the road labeled the present day,
We miss out on that assistance,
Not having that bike to sometimes pace ourselves,
Coast when needed,
Pedal harder when needed, Continue reading “TO:DAY”
How many mornings do we wake up wishing something would change?,
How many times to we follow a daily routine searching for something new?,
How did we forget the common trait we all share?
The ability to create,
Sometimes it almost feels as if it’s human nature to wait for the world to change,
Instead of creating a change for the world,
Through American ways we get lost in this deep sea of self doubt,
We think about the end goal so much during the stairway to success,
We begin to skip steps mentally, Continue reading “First Sip.”
